Jesus Changed My Life! That’s my story! There’s a scripture in the Bible that says, “If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. Old things have passed away, all things have become new!” That me! A new person.

I have one of those wayward teen stories, made a mess of my life, disappointed and embarrassed my family, became of no use to anyone and nuisance to society. It was all pretty hopeless!

2 o’clock in the morning outside of Chicago at age 20 I found Jesus. Or Jesus found me, whichever way that works. In any event I was found!

For me I had never heard that Jesus was alive, risen from the dead, that He beat death. I always kind of admired Jesus, thought he was a good guy, but I understood him t be dead. That’s how I saw him. I’m the cross. Dead

When I heard some people talking not only about Jesus, but talking To Him, it was radical. Jesus was alive! The religious term is resurrection. Not only was He alive, but He would never die again. He ascended into heaven. All this news changed my life. As simple as that. Jesus still changes lives.

The passage says ‘all things become new.’ Well, that has certainly happened for me. Jesus gave me life back and then began to rebuild me. Getting my G.E.D. high school diploma, enrolling in college in my late 20’s.

I started learning the Bible and eventually teaching the Bible. I’ve been teaching it ever since. I’ve taught through every book of the Bible, which is a pretty big feat, considering most people have a hard time just reading through the entire Bible. Jesus restored everything to me and even more.

Following Jesus has lead me to some places I never would have imagined I’s be. I’ve been to 18 countries as I’ve followed Him to spread the message everywhere. That’s what He told us those who know Him to do. I’m still doing it.

Following the call lead me to serve as a chaplain and volunteer mobilizer at the Fallen Twin Towers for a year. I was privileged to pray with a firefighter standing on the fallen towers they called the ‘pile.’ Starting a ministry called Willing Hearts, Helping Hands, we were able to do relief work in Nicaragua during the Sandinista-Contra War, spend a year rebuilding houses in Katrina, pray with officials, gang leaders and people in Ferguson.

Jesus took me when I was useless to society and turned my life around. All my gratitude and any good that has come from my life has come from Jesus. I’m eternally grateful to the people that told me about God’s love.
